Still cookin'

So baby Springer has decided to stay inside where it's nice and warm. At least for now. I've benn feeling pretty good this weekend except for this evening. I think I was just really tried and over stimulated with all the construction and company. I had to lie down and missed dinner. This weekend Keith and Jan came to town to help with the renovation projects. The steep stairs were taken out and new steps are now in place. The banister and railings are started but not finished yet. The goal was to have the renovation completed enough to be able to bring the baby home. Now I feel the rooms are ready, the hallway and stairs are close. Stay tunned for more news! I'll do a belly picture next time.

The time is near

Jenny had a doctor's appointment today. We found out that things are progressing well and we can expect a baby sooner rather than later. After the exam we found out she is one centimeter dilated and 70% effaced. Since then she has had some sporadic contractions and discomfort. We'll be spending the rest of the night timing contractions and attempting to put to use all of the good information that we gained during Baby class this weekend.

Labor Day Weekend

The weekend is here and the Springer household is busy! Keith and Jan are still here helping with the renovation and they've recruited a few more workers. Ryan and Nicole and Mike and Mary have joined the work force and the project is rolling right along. We are going out for dinner tonight to celebrate our 3rd wedding anniversary and the progress we've made on the renovation. Sunday will be a day of relaxation. The guys are golfing and the ladies will be hanging around the pool. Here's some new pictures.

Renovation

So the up stairs renovation is moving right along. The mudder and taper is finished and primer is going on the walls as I type. Derek's parents are in town this week to help with everything. They have been a hugh help! The doors are sanded and painted, the changing table is sanded and painted, the built-ins are built but still need to be installed by Derek. The wainscoting and trim will be purchased tonight so that while Derek and I are at work, Keith and Jan will be busy painting that. The antique bed I purchased last summer will also be stripped of the many layers of paint and a fresh coat of white will go on that sometime this week. I think by the time labor day rolls around, the upstairs should be livable. This makes my stress level go down to a minimum which is great for me and the baby. I've been feeling great, just tired in my 32nd week. Here's a picture of Derek priming our soon to be bedroom.

I have to record how long it takes for the baby to move 10 times. Right now its averaging only 5 minutes, very active baby! I can't wait until the renovation is done so I can set up the nursery and our bedroom. I'm really wanting to "nest" right now and am unable to. Derek promises it will be done before they baby comes, I'm crossing my fingers.

27 weeks and counting

Well, I haven't updated the blog in awhile, so there has been lots of changes. Mostly in the size of my belly. The last doctors appointment I had went really well. I tested my gluclose level to make sure I don't have diabetes, and I'm in the clear! The baby had it's 5Th ultrasound and everything is in working order, brain, heart, bladder, etc. The baby has decided that my ribs are a perfect place to kick, grab, or just plain wedge itself under, so sleeping has become pretty difficult. Yesterday I couldn't sleep, so I drove to the lake and watched the sun rise over the sailboats at the marina, beautiful. This weekend, Derek has been busy trying to get the upstairs project completed. The nursery is completely drywalled now and the hallway is mostly done. Our room is next on the list to be hopefully completed today. Here's a new belly picture to enjoy.

Ultrasound

I had my ultrasound done Monday June 11th and Baby Springer looks great. I'm measuring right on schedule with my due date. The baby was so comfortable in it's position, we couldn't get it to move around to get a better angle of the heart, so now I have to have another ultrasound done in July to get a better reading/measurment of the heart and to get a profile picture. It's amazing to see how our baby is growing and we are so thankful to have a healthy baby and pregnancy. Enjoy the pictures.
